BRITISH CARGO
IN INTERNED GERMAN SHIPS. EFFORTS TO SECURE RELEASE (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, November 21. The London Chamber of Commerce is engaged in efforts to secure the release for reshipment of a large amount of British-owned cargo in German vessels taking refuge in neutral ports. British cargo-owners are interested in more than 140 German ships lying in 42 different ports in various parts of the world. The value of the goods cannot at present be estimated accurately. though it amounts to some million pounds. The chamber has completed preliminary steps and a committee of cargoowners has been set up whom the traders concerned will be advised to notify. . The organisation is primarily concerned with British goods, but as the discharge frequently involves moving neutral-owned cargo, the chamber is also prepared to consider assisting in securing the release of such neutial cargo. ______
