TENNIS CLUB TOURNAMENT WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The winners of the Yankee tournament on Saturday were Miss Z. Marflitt and C. Ward (4), who defeated Miss I. Collier and E. McAlpine (5) 40-38. The afternoon tea hostesses for Saturday next are Mesdames Kershaw and Griffiths and Miss Baker. Centennial Baths. The contributions to the Martinborough Centennial baths fund now total £3O 16s lOd. Personal Items. Mr S. Ussher, who has been home on several days’ sick leave, has returned to Trentham Camp. Mr Bruce Friend, who is in camp al Trentham, was a visitor to Martinborough during the weekend. Mr and Mrs McWilliams have left Martinborough to take up their residence in Masterton to which place Mr McWilliams has been transferred. Mr Arthur Whiting was a visitor tc Martinborough last week. The late Mrs Elizabeth Ann Smith, who died at her residence in Venice Street on Saturday after a long illness was born in New Plymouth in 1885 and came to Martinborough about forty years ago. She married at an early age and brought up a large family of sons and daughters, four of whom predeceased her. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon at the new cemetery
