GERMAN ADMIRAL'S ADVICE
EMPLOYMENT OF SURFACE CRAFT. DIFFICULTIES OF U-BOATS ADMITTED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright(Received This Day. 12.10 p.m.) LONDON. November 20._ A British United Press Berlin report says Admiral Meurer, writing in the “Hamburger Tageblatt,” urges Germany to employ surface craft, in addition to submarines, against British convoys, which he confesses present difficulties to the U-boats. He adds: “The battle against convoys. which include important transports, should be carried out by cruisers, destroyers and heavy units, since the German Navy’s chief task is ruthless war on commerce.”
