The number of deaconesses in the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand now reaches t>o. according to a report to bo submitted to the General Assembly meeting in Christchurch. The Church has 18 deaconesses engaged in Maori mission work, 13 in congregations as church sisters, five working under Presbyterian Social Service Association committees, throe in the youth department, and four in other spheres of Christian work. With 17 who are not now in active work the total is brought to 60. and they are organised in a Dominion association.
