OBITUARY

MR A. C. TURNER. The death occurred at the Fahiatua Hospital lasi night of Mr Alexander Cairns Turner, a well known and highly respected resident of the Wairarapa and Bush districts. The late Mr Turner had been in ill health for some time. Born in Argyleshire, Scotland. 87 years ago today, he arrived in New Zealand in the year 1885. He came to the Wairarapa shortly after his arrival and for a considerable time was manager for Messrs Morrison Bros, and later of Tupurupuru Station, after which he took up farming on his own account at Benmore, East Coast. He retired some years ago and had resided with his daughter. Mrs A. E. Brittian. Eketahuna. until the time of his death. The late Mr Turner was one of the oldest members of the Masterton A. and P. Society. He was a past president and director of the Caledonian Society, and had been chairman of various school committees. He was a keen judge of stock. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs C. S. Hay. East Coast, and Mrs Brittian, Eketahuna. Miss K. Turner. Innillan, is a sister. Mr Donaldson Turner, solicitor, Glasgow, a nephew, and Mrs Turner. Hampshire. England, a niece. The funeral will leave Knox Church. Masterton. on Wednesday, immediately following a service which will commence at noon.
