GERMAN HARDSHIPS
INDEPENDENT SOCIALIST MESSAGE “TERRIBLE ECONOMIC CONDITIONS.” HITLER'S OVERDUE PROMISES. P.y Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright LONDON. November 16. The Independent Socialists in Germany sent a message to the Independent British Labour Party after a six weeks’ silence, detailing terrible economic conditions. The Germans declared that the food rations were insufficient for the preservation of health. The misery of the working class was great and the people did not want war. Underground organisations were lighting by leaflet and radio for peace and the liberation of the races brought under Hitler's domination. The Rotterdam correspondent of “The Times” states that, according to neutral correspondents, the German public is restive at the continued inaction. The Government's "Gott Strale England” mood has lasted for some weeks and the people are now looking for results. The fulfilment of Hitler's promises is long overdue. The newspapers promise terrible things, but nothing happens. The Press concentrates on magnifying small achievements. The strain on nerves is increasing.
