CRIPPLED CHILDREN
WAIRARAPA BRANCH. ASSISTANCE TO NEW CASES. At the fortnightly meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Branch of the N.Z. Crippled Children Society held last evening the following new members were elected. Mrs N. C. Holmes, Miss C. M. Wood, Miss E. Wood, and Miss G. Sutherland. Particulars of four new cases registered were to hand. Arrangements have been made for two of them to be medically examined. A number of reports from visitors to the Centennial Exhibition are to the effect that the display of handcrafts by the crippled children was an excellent one. Many favourable comments have been received by those in charge of, the exhibits, and inquiries made have resulted in requests from visitors who desire to purchase duplicates of the articles. A coffee table with a hand worked tapestry top made by a crippled child in hospital is attracting considerable attention. Accounts amounting to fill 2s 6d for expenses in connection with an operation for cleft palate were passed for payment.
