"ONLY TACTICS"
VIOLENT SOVIET ATTACK ON FINNS EAGERNESS FOR AGREEMENT CALLED PRETENCE. DENUNCIATION OF BRITISH CAPITALISTS. Uy Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day, 12.55 p.m.) MOSCOW, November 15. A few hours after M Paasikivi had returned to Helsinki, the Moscow radio launched a violent attack against the Finnish Government, accusing Finland of being backed by Britain. It declared that the Finnish pretence that they were eager for agreement with the Soviet was only a tactical move to mislead world opinion. “They don’t want an understanding with the Soviet.” the broadcast declared. “They are continuing an antiSoviet policy.” It was added that British- capitalists regard Finland as a barrier against the barbarous East and that they have carried on trade with Finland at a loss to themselves for twenty years, from which cause the Finns’ anti-Soviet policy has sprung.
