WAIRARAPA TOURNAMENT. CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The annual Wairarapa croquet tour-, nament opened yesterday at Featherston. Mrs Wakely (president) welcomed the visitors and players. The results of play are as follow: — First life, ladies’ championship. Miss Lyford beat Mrs Donald 26-10; Mrs Saunders beat Miss Nix 36-3; Mrs Polson beat Mrs Bassett, 26-19. Second life. Mrs Saunders beat Mrs Petrie 26-22; Mrs Polson beat Miss Nix, 26-8. Handicap singles: Mrs Petrie (scr) beat Mrs Watson (3.1), 26-12: Miss Lyford (5) beat Mrs W. Card (7). 26-17; Mi's Benton (8) beat Mrs Saunders (2!), 26-15; Mrs Hankers beat Mrs Donald (81), 26-8. Handicap doubles: Mesdames Polson (1) and Card (7) boat Mesdames Saunders (21) and Benton (8), 26-20; Mesdames Petrie (scr) and O'Neale (7) beat Mesdames Doggett (4) and Watson (31), 26-16; Mesdames Bassett (11) and Donald (81) lost to Mesdames Petrie (scr) and O'Neale (7). 26-4. Eva Card Trophy: Miss Lyford beat Mrs Card. 26-11.
