WOMEN'S INSTITU'E MEETING AT KAHUTARA. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Kahutara Women's Institute was held yesterday afternoon. Mrs McKenna presiding over a good attendance. Visitors were present from Parkvale Institute. It was reported that a most satisfactory result had to be recorded in connection with the Christmas tree effort. The competitions resulted as follows: —Six stalks of flowers. Mrs Pope 1; Mrs Duffy. 2. Best bloom, Mrs Duffy, 1; Miss E. Cole, 2. Four new members were enrolled. Miss Stansell sang two songs, and the Kahutara Drama Circle staged a playette. Mrs Gain was pianist. The hostesses were Mesdames Duffy. D. Wilson. N. Wilson. D. Fenwick and Welsh. Personal. Mrs Petrie. Palmerston North, and Mrs Walker, Lower Hutt, are visitors to the Croquet Tournament. Juvenile Entertainers. The Town Hall was well filled on Monday night for the concert given by the Juvenile entertainers. The bright contumes and the spotlight added to the attractiveness of the items, which were all well received, many encores being given. The proceeds are in aid of the Girl Guide and Scout funds.
