GREYTOWN
LEAGUE OF MOTHER’S ENJOYABLE GARDEN PARTY. ("Times-Age” Special.) A very enjoyable time was spent yesterday. afternoon by members of the Greytown League of Mothers. Instead of the usual meeting, Mrs Knell kindly lent her grounds for a garden party, which was enjoyed by all present. The attendance was very large. Mrs Wiggins read the report of last meeting. Mrs Bull read a letter inviting all members who were able to visit the Exhibition on Friday. Mrs Bull informed members that she had posted a book called "Brave Days” to Lady Alice Ferguson who was very deeply interested in the Greytown branch. Lady Alice received a small gift annually from the Greytown members. ' Several competitions were held during the afternoon and resulted as follows: —Ball and string race, Mrs Benseman; golf, Mrs York; croquet, Miss Tully; butterfly hunt. Mrs H. G. Carter.
The choir sang two glees, "John Peel,” and “Lo, the Morn.” Afternoon tea was handed round on the lawn.
