WOOL CONTROL

APPOINTMENT CONSIDERED IN BRITAIN. WORLD BUYER FOR ALLIES.

By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day. 11.40 a.m.) LONDON. November 14.

The “Yorkshire Observer" says the Government is considering the appointment of a Wool Controller, who will be responsible for distribution and supply to the whole of the Allies and the Empire and will be in effect a world wool buyer for the Allies. It is likely that Lord Barnby will be appointed. The appointment will not interfere with Sir H. B. Shackleton as Controller for Britain. Nineteen thousand London textile employees are to get a war bonus of five per cent on their wages owing to the increased cost of living.
