A tribute to the good condition of the main highways in New Zealand was paid by Sir Norman Nock, Lord Mayor of Sydney, when he arrived in Auckland. “On my motor travels through the North Island 1 must say that I found the roads a credit to the country." he said. “They make motoring an absolute pleasure." He also said ho was impressed by the productivity of the rural districts, adding that it was much greater than on any similar lands in Australia. He was particularly pleased with an inspection he made of the Pukekohc district.
