Carterton defeated Park in the first round for the Booth Cup by 3 games to 1. The opening of the season wtis not very pleasant as a very boisterous wind played havoc with the running of the bowls and many good shots were thus spoiled. At Carterton the players were entertained at afternoon tea kindly provided by Mcsdames H. Simmonds and T. Lynch and this was much appreciated.
