There was a large gathering of baseball players at the first practice of the season, held on the Landsdowne grounds on Saturday afternoon, the attendance being much better than had been, expected. Several new players took part in the games. Further practices will be held tomorow night, and on Thursday. Members of the Pirates Club will meet at 7.30 o’clock tomorrow night.
