The feature of the play on Saturday when the third series of senior Wellington championship cricket matches was commenced was the score of 475 hit up by Wellington College Old Boys against Midland at Kelburn Parjk. Thompson reached 133 and Rainbird 125, the pair putting on 180 for the seventh wicket. This was Rainbird's second century in succession. Midland, at stumps, had scored 25 without loss. Slow scoring market the game between Wellington and Institute on Karori Park. Wellington could only scrape 156 together against the fast bowling of J. Boddy. who captured six wickets for 54 runs. Coupland made 35. and W. .Coupland 33. Hutt replied with 200 for six wickets, McLeod scoring 67 not out, and Capstick 55. DUNEDIN. Grade cricket was played in extremely variable weather on Saturday. All matches were interupted. but three resulted in first innings' wins, while the fourth was drawn. Kaikorai, 411. drew with Dunedin. 297, for five wickets (R. Wellake 120, Rodgerson 104, not out. Carisbropk A 411 for six wickets, declared. beat Carisbrook B 71 and 283 for seven (Talbot 72, H. Cameron 88 Anderson 69), on the first innings. Grange, 27 J for six wickets, declared (Chettleburgh 88), beat Old Boys, 158, on the first innings. University, 286, beat Albion. 140 on the -first innings. CHRISTCHURCH.
