BOROUGH AFFAIRS

FEATHERSTON COUNCIL MEETING HELD LAST NIGHT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Featherston Borough Council was held last night. There were present the Mayor (Mr J. W. Card). Crs R. F. Watson, C. C. Kenward, J. S. Viles, M. B. Tait. H. W. Cundy. B. Donald. Apologies for absence were received from Crs Johnston. Skipage and Hardy. The local Returned Soldiers’ Association was granted the use of a room in the Anzac Hall for their meetings. The Town Clerk was authorised to vote on behalf of the borough for a loan proposal for the Featherston County.

A complaint was received regarding a bull wandering on the roads, and it was decided to notify the owner that action would be taken against him if the bull were not kept off the road. The mayor was appointed delegate to attend the patriotic funds meeting which is to be held at Greytown next Wednesday.
