BURGLARY AT GLADSTONE
STORE BROKEN INTO. TOBACCO AND MONEY STOLEN. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Carterton police have received word that the Gladstone store owned by Mr C. King, had been entered by a burglar or burglars on Wednesday night or Thursday morning, and that although the intruders had ransacked the premises, only tobacco and a small sum of money had been taken. Entrance to the store, which is detached from the residence, was made by breaking a window. It was not until the next morning that the burglary was discovered. When Mrs King opened the premises for the day’s business it was at once seen that the place had been entered during the night or early morning. The Carterton police were communicated with, but so far no clue has been discovered as to the culprit.
