LANSDOWNE SCHOOL

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. MILK SCHEME WORKING SATISFACTORILY. The usual meeting of the Lansdowne School Committee was held in the school last evening when Mr Pither presided. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs A. V. Faulknor and J. K. Logan. Accounts amounting to £8 10s 7d were passed for payment. An application from the Railway Tennis Club for the use of the hard courts at the school was granted. The headmaster reported that the present roll number was 281, with a very satisfactory attendance. The grounds were in excellent order. The milk scheme was now in full running order and working very satisfactorily. 240 half pints being consumed daily. The school will close for the Christmas vacation on December 15, reopening on Tuesday, February 6, 1940. Messrs Donovan and Fly were appointed a visiting committee for the ensuing month.
