HERD IMPROVEMENT

TESTING IN WAIRARAPA. FIGURES FOR OCTOBER. The Wellington-Hawke’s Bay Herd Improvement Association reports having tested 31,025 cows in the month of October and the average cow produced 8691 b milk of 4.4 average test yielding 38.551 b butterfat. The highest group in the association was that of South Featherston wherein 1397 cows averaged 421 b butterfat. The highest herd in the association was one of 13 cows which averaged 581 b fat and the highest cow in the association produced 951 b butterfat for the 30 day period.
