M Saracoglu (Foreign Minister) addressing the Assembly, said the tripartite pact with England and France was a turning point of the utmost importance in world history. It would make the peace efforts of the signatories more effective and fruitful and inaugurate a truly happy era in Turkey in the political and military as well as the social and economic spheres. . It is reliably stated that M Saracoglu privately assured Deputies that Turkey will continue to resist the Soviet demand for the closing of the Black Sea and Dardanelles to foreign warships. The Government has decided to demobilise those called up as reservists.
