Very fast times were recorded at Riccarton today on the third day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s Metropolitan meeting. Favourites again missed. The totalisator handled £42,792 10s, a decrease of £lB2 10s on the third clay last year. The increase for the three clays is £615 10s. The adjourned inquiry into the fall of Skyrena in the Criterion Handicap on Monday was concluded, and, after hearing the evidence of the jockeys concerned, it was found that the happening was purely accidental.
