Riccarton Bush. A satisfactory feature of the year had been the increasing number of visitors to the bush. both student parties and lhe general public, said the report presented to the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Riccarton Bush. Professor Carl Skottsberg, Director of the Botanic Gardens. Golhenberg. Sweden, spent an afternoon in the bush early in November and expressed his great pleasure and appreciation of such a reserve of native forest'almost within the boundaries of a city. It was also satisfactory to note that the visitors to the bush were becoming more appreciative of its scenic and scientific value and that the ranger had reported no serious damage to, or wanton destruction of. plants. "The board tenders its grateful thanks to those individuals who made donations to its funds during the vear, to the Department of Lands and Survey, which made a special grant of £25, and to the various local bodies and other organisations which have been regularly making annual grants ”
