WAIRARAPA CLUB’S ANNUAL. CHAMPIONSHIPS GOOD STANDARD OF PERFORMANCE. WINNERS OF CUPS AND OTHER PRIZES. At the annual club championships of the Wairarapa Gun Dog Club, held on Mr H. Nee’s property, Opaki Road, competition was very keen and the attendance of the public was indeed encouraging, the attendance being the largest yet seen at the club s meetings. Entries from outside districts, including many from Hawke's Bay and the Hutt, were large and some good performances were to be seen in many of the competing dogs. The Wairarapa All Breed Champion ship resulted in a tie' between Mr P. R. Rose’s Labrador Retriever. Shotover Roy, and Mr R. W. Plunkett’s Irish Setter, Redstone Tawa, with 186 points. Mr M. A. Rawlins’s Labrador. Cleopatra May, was next with 185 points. There were fifteen entries in this event.

The Pearce Challenge Trophy for the best Wairarapa dog in the Land Section of the Championship was won by Mr M. A. Rawlins’s Labrador. Cleopatra May, which gave a finished display in both this and the aggregate. Mr P. R. Rose’s Shotover Roy won the Grey Challenge Cup for the best water performance, also the Gage Cup for most points over both land and water in the club championship.

Mr J. Pritchard’s Springer Spaniel, Roy, won the Larsen Cup for the best performance in the Spaniel Championship, while the Donald McKenzie Challenge Cup for the winner of the Retriever Championship went to Mr P. R. Rose’s Shotover Roy. • Mr C. E. Grey judged all events. Results are as follow: —
