FREEDOM STATION
CONTINUING TO OPERATE IN GERMANY GESTAPO AGENTS EVADED. BROADCAST DROWNED OUT BY JAMMING. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day, 1.5 p.m.) LONDON, November G. Berlin reports state that the Gestapo failed to track down the Freedom wireless station, which, according to an announcer, has removed to another West German district.
The announcer disclosed that the Gestapo often had nearly discovered the station, but the co-operation of friends, added to its own vigilance, saved the operators from Himmler’s bloodhounds. Listeners would later De informed in what towns it was operating. Its propaganda had fallen on fertile soil among West German armament workers.
When the announcer began to read a proclamation, jamming drowned out the station.
