THE EXHIBITION
OPENING AT RONGOTAI TOMORROW. HUGE ASSEMBLAGE EXPECTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Fifty thousand people are expected to attend the opening of the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition at Rongotai tomorow. Invitations have been issued to 3000 guests of the exhibition directors, and seating accommodation has been arranged for an even larger number.
The general manager. Mr C. P. Hainsworth, said yesterday that the opening of the Dunedin and South Seas Exhibition was attended by 45.786 people, and it seemed only reasonable to assume that if the day was tine at least 50.90(1 would attend on this occasion.
To enable the crowds to gain admission without undue congestion at the turnstiles, the gates will be opened at 11 a.m. Though the main buildings will be closed till a fanfare of trumpets announced that the GovernorGeneral has declared them open. Playland and the restaurant and cafeteria will bo open throughout the day.
