CROQUET CHALLENGE WIN FOR FEATHERSTON. ("Times-Age” Special.) The Haunui Club challenged the Featherston Club for intermediate broaches, the result being:—Mrs Benton and Mrs O'Neale (Featherston) 26. beat Mrs Hankers and Mrs Viles (Haunui) 24. Featherston B travelled to Masterton at Saturday when Mrs Benton and Mrs O’Neale (Featherston) beat Mrs Bethridge and Mrs Williams by 26 to 17. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs H. Lovegrove have left on a camping holiday. Miss Helson, Petone, is visiting Mrs Linehan, Pahautea. Mr and Mrs Barnett. Wellington, and Miss Moss (Wellington) are the guests of Mrs McKenna, Pahautea. Gunner Gordon McKay, who is on sick leave is staying with his parents. Mr and Mrs Mac Kay, Pahautea. Mrs H. Walden (Huntly) and Mrs W. Edwards (Kaitieke) who have been visiting Mrs Juno, have returned home.
Guy Fawkes. Bon fires and fireworks were greatly in evidence on Saturday night, the weather conditions being perfect. No accidents are reported and the children thoroughly enjoyed the old time custom of burning “guy.”
