WOMEN’S INSTITUTE COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Tinui Women’s Institute was held in the local hall, Mrs O’Hara presiding oyer a fair attendance. After the singing of the Institute song, the delegate to the Federation meeting gave her report, which was greatly appreciated. As Mrs Cleghorn was unable to be present to give an address, two very interesting and entertaining competitions were held instead. The competition resulted: —Flowers: Mrs O’Hara 1, Miss Atack 2, Mrs Street 3. Sponge cake: Mrs Speedy 1, Mrs Owen 2. Mrs Street 3. Peggy squares: Mrs Carmen 1, Mrs Johnston 2, Miss Langdon 3. Wall competition (spelling): Mrs Dobbs, Mrs Street, Mrs Bennett. Miss Street, Miss French. Mintie competition: Miss Owen 1. Miss Street 2. The competitions for December will be: Gooseberry short cake, flower, best Christmas novelty. The hostesses were Mrs Stewart, Misses P. Street and C. O'Hara.
