STAFF PRESENTATION
MISS M. PALMER FAREWELLED. The companionship of the "Wairarapa Times-Age” gathered “round the stone” this morning to bid farewell to Miss Margaret Palmer, a valued member of the staff, who is severing her connection with the paper in order to be married. Mr D. M. Graham, general manager, in making Miss Palmer the gift of a chiming clock from the combined staffs and a cheque from the firm, referred to Miss Palmer’s long association with the'"Wairarapa Age” and later with the "Times-Age” and the capable and faithful service which she had always given. Mr Graham said Miss Palmer had earned the high respect and affectionate regard of all members of the staff. Observing that Miss Palmer was to marry a former employee of the “Age” and the “TimesAge,” Mr Graham wished her every happiness and success in the future. Mr E. J. Brown, manager, spoke on similar lines. Miss Palmer, who was heartily cheered, suitably acknowledged the kind remarks made concerning herself and thanked the firm and the staff for their gifts. Miss Palmer is to be married at Masterton on November 11 to Mr James Thurston, formerly of Masterton. but now of Hawera.
