DYKES CUT IN HOPEI FIVE MILLION PEASANTS MADE HOMELESS. ALLEGATIONS BY CHINESE GOVERNMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. CHUNGKING, November 1. The Government alleges that the Japanese have rendered 5,000,000 peasants homeless by cutting the dykes in the Hopei Province to flood out the guerilla forces. Five new Japanese divisions have arrived in the Hunan Province. Another drive southward along the Han-kow-Canton railway is expected shortly.
