Sir Frederick Stewart, Acting-Min-ister of Supply, stated last night that, next year's production of heavy mach-ine-guns at Lithgow Small Arms Factory, in New South Wales, will be eight times that of 1938. He pointed out that a portion of the needs of two other Dominions would be met at this factory where nearly £2,000 000 was being spent 'on additional plant and extension, giving employment to 800 skilled tradesmen.
