Dr C. D. Henry has relinquished his duties, as police surgeon in Wellington after being connected with the force for about 40 years.

Hastings, are guests at the Midland Hotel. Masterton. ■ The final figures in the Westport mayoral election are: John McLean Robertson. 1099; John Kilkenny (exmayor), 1019; majority for Robertson. 80 votes. The Hon P. C. Webb, Minister of Labour, who has been visiting the West Coast, returned to Wellington by air yesterday afternoon from Greymouth. Dr L. R. Richardson. M.Sc.. Ph.D. (McGill University. Montreal), has been appointed by the Victoria University College Council to the position of lecturer in zoology in place of Mr C. E. Palmer, who recently resigned to take up an important position in the Government Meteorological Department. Dr Richardson is 28 years of age. and is at present demonstrator in zoology at McGill University. Mrs Sarah Louisa Seddon died al her residence. Lower Hutt, this week. She was born in Manchester. England. Her father. Mr Samuel Swarbrick, was manager of the Great Eastern Railways. In 1881. Miss Swarbrick came for a trip to New Zealand with her father and sister to visit her brother, who was living in Hamilton. She lived for some years with her brother, and in 1886 married Mr Robert Seddon (Tauranga). Mr Seddon died in 1906. Mrs Seddon is survived by a daughter. Miss Seddon (Lower Hutt) and three sons, Professor 11. R. Seddon (Brisbane University). Mr G. T. Seddon, a surveyor (Hamilton), and Mr G. H.
