AMATEUR SWIMMING
MASTERTON CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. CUP FOR INTERMEDIATE GRADE. The annual meeting of the Masterton Amateur Swimming and Life Savinf Club was held last night, Mr H. P. Glen being in the chair. Officers were elected as follow: — Patron. Mr H. E. Pither; president, Mr H. P. Glen; vice-presidents, Mesdames P. Maguire, D. Andrews, Messrs C. Spiers, D. Andrews, H. M. Morton. A. V. Faulknor, J, Bruce, J. Robertson, M.P.. F. O’Connor, J. W. Colquhoun; hon secretaries and treasurers, Messrs R. E. Barnes and G. A. Barr; hon auditor, Mr D. B. Curry; club captain, Mr F. Stains; vice-captain, Mr V. McKeague; handicappers, Messrs D. Pauling and M. Fly; coach, Mr J. Barnes; general committee, Mrs J. Major, Miss D. Heaven, Messrs F. Morton, D. O’Connor. H. Dixon, M. Finlayson, C. Roff, L. Maguire, J. Barnes and A. Dean; delegate to Wellington Centre, Mr K. Spiers; delegate to Royal Life Saving Society, Mr I. McHardy. It was decided to open the season on the first Tuesday after the opening of the Municipal Baths. Mr Pither donated a cup for aggregate points in the intermediate grade. Free membership of the club is to be extended to all members absent on active service.
