CHURCH OF THE EPIPHANY
SUNDAY SCHOOL CONCERT. A packed hall greeted the children of the Epiphany Sunday School last evening, when they presented their annual concert. From beginning to end the items went with a swing and the children as usual gave of their best, being warmly applauded for their efforts by an enthusiastic audience. The performers were a credit to themselves, and to those responsible for their training. The programme consisted of recitations by Ngaire Harman, Ray Macalister. Beryl Henderteon Leonie Forrest Joyce Clarke, Josephine Steel, Pegg> Davies, Bob Williams Betty Barnes and Bob Forrest; songs by Gwen Moul dey, Betty Evans. Betty Barnes: a toe dance by Beryl Henderson: a plane solo by Jill Messenger. The juniors delighted the audience with a bracket of Snow-White songs. A popular item was a camp-fire scene when "cow-boys" in the traditional manner gave some well known songs of the "West." Two very amusing plays were greatly appreciated. Those who took part were. N. Robertson. A. Henson. L. Leny. S. Coby T. Judd. S. Bannister in the first play and B. Kemp. B. Gravestock and E Jackson in the second play. The final item by the senior girls, a bracket of sacred songs, brought the concert to a close.
Before the final item, the Vicar, the Rev E. J. Rich, thanked those responsible for arranging the concert and also the large number of people for attending. He congratulated the children on their very creditable performance.
