CARTERTON
GUN CLUB ANNUAL MEETING ON MONDAY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of members of the Carterton Gun Club will be held in the Dalefield Dairy Company's building on Monday next, November 6, at 8 o’clock. The business will include the adoption of the -report and balance sheet, election of officers and general. The coming season promises to be a very successful one and it is anticipated that there will be a large attendance at the meeting. Several new members intend joining the club. BOY SCOUTS CARD PARTY. The usual weekly, card party in aid of the Boy Scouts’ fund was held in the Band Room, Carterton, last evening. There was a good attendance. The ladies’ prizes were won by Mesdames Jackson, Gallon and Pauling who tied. Messrs C. Holland and F. Hyde won the men’s prizes. CHILDREN OF MARY SUCCESSFUL DANCE. There was a good attendance at the dance held by the Children of Mary in St Mary’s Hall. Excellent music for dancing was played by Miss M. Herrick, and much appreciated extras were played by Miss G. Wright. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss M. Hannah and Mr M. Meyer, and the.lucky spot by Miss P. Lipinski and • Mr E. Pearce. A dainty supper was served. The duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr Mac Waterson. Caledonian Fair. The Caledonian Fair which is to be held in the Band Room, Carterton, on Friday, under the jurisdiction of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, promises to be a success. The arrangements for the gathering have been completed. Luncheon and morning and afternoon tea will be available, besides plentiful supply of produce, etc. ■Personal. Mr Geo! E. Allen, of “Taipua,” Taratahi, will judge Romney Marsh sheep at the Nelson A. and P. Association’s Show on November 17..
