GREYTOWN

PLUNKET SOCIETY FINAL BRIDGE PARTY. (“Times-Age" Special.) The committee of the Grey (own Piunket Society held its final bridge party in the Piunket Rooms yesterday afternoon. Mrs J. Parker finished with the highest aggregate score. Mrs S. Stevens was the winner for the year's play and Mrs Nicholson came second. The prize for the most improved player was won by Mrs Bayliss. Miss Askew’s score was the highest for the afternoon. The consolation prize went to Mrs Lennox. Mrs Ward was presented with the flower trophy. In the absence of the president, Mrs Vile, Mrs Knell asked Mrs Parker tc present the prizes, all of which she had kindly donated Birthday greetings were conveyed to Mrs Tully, and she was presented with a posy. The bridge parties have proved very popular during the year and the Piunket Society’s funds will benefit considerably by the support of the players. Vital Statistics. The vital statistics for Greytown for October are as follow: —Births. 2; marriages, nil, deaths, 3. Rainfall for October. During October there were 10 days with rain in Greytown, the total fall being 191 points. In October last year 184 points were registered, rain falling on 13 days. Anglican Gipsy Fair. A special feature of the Anglican Gipsy Fair oh Friday, will be the costumes worn by the stall-holders.
