TROOP MOVEMENTS
REPORTED IN GERMANY ALONG THE NORTH SEA COAST AND ON FRANCO-SWISS BORDER. INDICATIONS OF ATTEMPTED CONCEALMENT.. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright LONDON, October 26. Following on the Amsterdam message stating that all telephone communications from Belgium, Holland and the Scandinavian countries with Germany have been suspended, though communication by teleprinter between Germany and Holland is continuing, Reuter's Paris correspondent says the interruption is apparently an attempt to hide big troop movements. The Dutch report that the Germans are heavily massing materials, troops and planes in the North Sea coastal districts from Emden to the mouth of the Elbe. Switzerland is also cut off by telephone and Zurich reports big concentrations near the Franco-Swiss border. A radio report says that Berlin is discriminating over calls to neutral countries. Private calls are permitted, but calls to newspapers or officials are not allowed. For the first time since the outbreak of the war, foreign correspondents in Germany have been compelled to hand their messages personally into post offices.
