CHURCH SERVICES

The Young People's aniversary services at the Salvation Army tomorrow will be conducted by Colonel and Mrs Scotney, from Wellington. The children will be heard during the day in the singing of anniversary songs and various other items. In the afternoon service the primary children will give a programme, and there will also be the presentation of the prizes. Mrs Fairbrother, the Young People’s leader, has been busy training the children for the last few weeks for these services. The annual demonstration will be given by the children on Monday night .commencing at 8 o’clock. All are heartily invited to these special services. The Masterton Baptist Fellowship continues to meet in the Y.M.C.A. Hall on Sundays, when services are conducted by Mr A. E. Lonsdale, of the N.Z. Baptist College. Reference to our church advertisement column will advise readers and those interested of the times of meetings. A special memorial service to the late Mrs John Davie will be conducted in the Presbyterian Knox Church by the Rev. A. Armstrong at the 11 a.m. service tomorrow. At 7 p.m., Mr Osborne, of the Presbyterian Social Service Association, will give an address. All communicants have been asked to join with the newly-confirmed members when they make their first Communion in St. Matthew’s Church at 8 a.m. tomorrow. The annual fellowship breakfast will follow the service. A children’s service will be held at 10.30 a.m., and the evening service at 7 o’clock. There will be a service at Brancepeth at 3 p;.m., and at Kuripuni at'7 p.m. “Why Does Not God Stop This War? is the subject to be dealt with at the Methodist Church service on Sunday evening, when the Rev. Frederick J. Parker will be the preacher, and the service will be of a special musical najture. The soloist is Miss Doreen Jamieson, and the special anthems to be rendered by the choir will be “The Lord Brings Back His Own” and “The Lord is His Name.” At the morning service Mr Parker will speak on the subject, “What Sort of a Revival Do We Need?” At the Kuripuni Methodist Church tomorrow the morning service will be| conducted by Mr F. G. Rutter, and at night the usual car service will be available, to the town church. The Sunday School anniversary services are to be held in the Masterton Methodist Church on Sunday, November 5. ■ The speaker at both Church of Christ services tomorrow will be Mr E.
