ABOUT OUTCOME OF WAR i I i VALUE OF DOMINION CO-OPERATION. SUPREME IMPORTANCE OF AIR POWER. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. 1 (Received This Day, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON. October 25. Declaring that nobody in the Empire had any doubt about the outcome of the war, Mr Anthony Eden, broadcasting, said: “The Dominions’ acceptance of the pooling of resources for the fullest development of our air power shows that our collaboration with the Dominions is already producing practical results. It is scarcely possible to exaggerate the influence this collaboration will have on the course of the war." Germany, Mr Eden added, could not influence the air development whereby Britain was assured of a constant supply of pilots and other personnel of the highest standard. Herr Hitler had lost the initiative on the Western Front. Russia and Turkey had blocked the Germans’ road to the East. Attacks by air against our Navy and merchantmen had failed utterly in their purpose. The submarine, by comparison with the last war, was an indecisive weapon. The total of merchantmen sunk was below one per cent of our tonnage.
