The Tokio cm,‘respondent of the United Press of America says Japan has pushed her efforts to improve her relations with the United States and find a ground for the solution of her difficulties with Russia, but the indications are that she is meeting difficulties with both. A date has not been set for conver--sations between Mr Nomura and Mr I Grew (U.S. Ambassador) about a temporary agreement after the expiration of the commercial treaty on January 26, 1940. The Japanese Press reports that the United States is contemplating some I active intervention in China.
