CONFIRMATION SERVICE

ADDRESS BY BISHOP OF NELSON. St. Matthew’s Church was filled to capacity' last night when the Rt. Rev. W. G. Hilliard. Bishop of Nelson, conducted the annual confirmation service. The singing of the hymns by the large congregation, led by the choir, was most inspiring, and the whole service was a memorable one. In all 91 candidates were confirmed, including many' adults. In a forceful and telling address the Bishop drove home his message with apt illustrations. Faithfulness to the Christian ideal and how it could be obtained was his theme. His inspiring words will long remain in the memories of all who heard them.

Next Sunday in St. Matthew’s at 8 a.m.. the newly-confirmed members will make their first communion. All communicants were asked to join with them on that great occasion and also in the annual Fellowship Breaklast which will follow the service.
