The Christchurch City Council’s parks and reserves contribute in no small degree to the beauty of Christchurch at this time of the year. One of the most notable displays is the Beckenham Park rock garden. Here alpine plants of every kind and of every shade of colour are now blooming most magnificently. The park is one of the most delightful places in Christchurch both to the horticulturist and to the casual visitor who appreciates the beauty of tree and shrub and flower; unfortunately, there are many citizens who have never seen it.
