A crowd in the Strand was surprised to see the Royal Car halt at New Zealand House and their Majesties the King and Queen alight without ceremony. They were heartily cheered as they entered the sandbagged doorway to be received by the High Commissioner (Mr W. J. jordan) and Mrs Jordan. Their Majesties were keenly interested in the work of the various departments under war time conditions. Afterwards they visited India House.
