INTER-HOUSE SPORTS

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. RULE EXCLUDING COLLEGE GIRLS. College girls will definitely not be allowed to assist any girls' team in the Inter-House competitions on Saturday, November 25. Should any team entries be received including such a girl, or one not in employment or who has. never previously been employed, the secretary will refuse to accept the team entry. This decision was made by the committee of the Inter-House Association at a meeting held last night and was by way of reffirming a previ - ous resolution making that rule and confirmed the action of the secretary in writing last week to all proposed teams setting out the rule. By the non-acceptance of entry from a team breaking the rule, the need for disqualifying an entrant at the time of the competitions will be obviated. Many details concerning the conduct of the Sports day and the dance were dealt with finally at last night's meeting. It is expected that approximately 10 teams of girls will be competing. The teams already practising are: W.F.C.A., Hugo and Shearer’s Cody’s, McKenzies’. Woolworths’. Leecroft Chambers, Stock and Station Agents, Combined Garages, State Kitchenette and Hosiery Mills. A letter was received from Mr L. B. Maunsell, acknowledging his re-elec-tion as president of the association and offering to donate a challenge cup to be known as the President's Cup, for annual competition. A donation was also received from Mr J. H. Cunningham who was recently re-elected a vice-president of the Association.

An offer from James Elliott and Co to erect a tent for use of the secretaryon Sports Day was received with thanks.
