Herr Hitler presented LieutenantCommander Prien (not Doenitz) whose U-boat sank the Royal Oak. with the Knight Cross of the Iron Cross, which is the highest decoration conferable on members of the armed forces, after which Lieutenant-Commander Prien reported in detail on his Sqapa Flow experiences. Herr Hitler then entertained the commander and crew at lunch at his flat.
