FIRE IN WANGANUI

CITY ENGINEER'S OFFICE BADLY DAMAGED.

(By Telegraph- Frees Association.) WANGANUI This Day. Al fire broke out early this morning in the Wanganui City Council Chambers building in which the offices of the City Engineer and his stall are located. The blaze started in the supper room and in a room on the ground floor used by traffic inspectors and draughtsmen. Both rooms were badly gutted and much damage was done in the engineer’s office and drawings were, burnt. The building was insured for £l4OO and the fittings for £445. Mr N. Annabell, a surveyor, lost drawings and also his own instruments.
