« RETIRES FROM STAGE. Gladys Moncrieff, who belongs to the musical comedy tradition of Nellie Stewart, Florence Young, ana Dorothy Brunton, is known affectionately throughout Australia and New Zealand as “Our Glad.” Although she has not been seen on the stage for some time, her anpearance as a member of the audience at any theatre becomes somewhat of a triumphant entry. Since her recovery from her car accident in Victoria 18 months ago Miss Moncrieff has decided to retire from the stage, and she will shortly begin a series or concerts throughout Australia for. the Australian Broadcasting Commission.
