"To the New Zealand Government we pledge our fullest support, realising as we do that the light today is one of right against might and that everything possible must ,be done, and personal sacrifices made, Vo ensure the final success of the forces that are, and will be, fighting against tyrannical oppression of the smaller nations of the world,” says the annual report of the New Zealand Surf Life-Saving Association. Difficulties involved in the training of male nurses were mentioned in replies from the Health Department to remits passed at the annual conference of the Hospital Boards’ Assockatipn concerning the shortage of nurses. It was stated in reply that the Nurses’ and Midwives' Registration Board and the department had considered the matter.
