Because it considers that the standard at hotels will not remain stable through changes of stall' caused by enlistments for military service, the executive of the South Island Motor Union has decided to defer the annual starring of hotels in the South Island for a year. Il was stated al a mooting that the expense could bo saved during the present situation and that many proprietors had been unable to efl'oct improvements recommended by the grader during his last tour.
