CARTERTON CLUB MEETING. STOCK JUDGING COMPETITION. (“Times- Age” Special. I The monthly meeting of the Carterton Young Farmers’ Club was held in the p - & A - Rooms last Wednesday. The chairman, Mr. A. D. ilB WgLffil Fisher. presided over a rather small attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs G. Rose and G. Wadham. A letter from Mr S. Freeman was read, stating that the stock judging, competition being conducted by the' Journal of Agriculture had been extended for a month, and would now close on October 23. It was decided to change the date of meeting to the first Tuesday in each month. Entries were taken for the Young Farmers’ Club stock-judging classes, to be held at the Carterton Show. Messrs N. Lamont, S. Fisher and M. and J. Thompson were nominated as stewards for these classes. It was decided to write and congratulate the Belvedere and Carrington members of the Women’s Division on winning the baby carnival. As Mr R. Wilson, who was scheduled to speak on milking machines, was unable to be present,\ several of the members who toured the West Coast of the South Island in June last gave I talks on their experiences.
